Zinio Rioja Reserva ‘De Wijnschuur’

Over het Wijnhuis De Wijnschuur viert dit jaar haar 15 jarig jubileum in huidige bezetting. Daar hoort een jubileumwijn bij! De Zinio wijnen zijn al jaren te vinden in De Wijnschuur, maar deze Reserva is speciaal voor ons gebotteld. Het wijnhuis is opgericht door 170 zelfstandige druiventelers in het prachtige Rioja Alta waar ze smaakvolle klassieke Rioja wijnen maken van de Tempranillo druif.
Het ARC Test Panel zocht een rode wijn die past bij rugbyers en de club. 'En omdat we 60 jaar bestaan moet 'ie best een punch hebben'. En die hebben we gevonden! Volgens Nick 'de lekkerste van alle geproefde wijnen van de afgelopen 4 jaar!' Paul: 'ik weet alleen niet zeker of je hiermee het kerstdiner nog gaat halen'. Maar vrolijk werden we er allemaal van! We hopen jullie ook.
About the Wine HouseThe Wine Barn is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year in its current lineup. With that comes an anniversary wine! Zinio wines have been available at De Wijnschuur for years, but this Reserva was bottled especially for us. The winery was founded by 170 independent grape growers in the beautiful Rioja Alta where they make flavorful classic Rioja wines from the Tempranillo grape.
The ARC Test Panel was looking for a red wine befitting rugby players and the club. 'And because we are 60 years old, 'it should pack quite a punch'. Well, you can say we found it! According to Nick 'the tastiest of all the wines tasted over the past 4 years!' Paul: 'I'm just not sure if you will make it to your Christmas dinner'. But it made us all happy! We hope you'll share the feeling.

Vinification The grapes for the Reserva are reserved twice: in the vineyards and in the winery. The juice is in contact with the skins for 2 days for a deep ruby color and flavor concentration. After fermentation, the wine matures for another 18 months in French and American oak before being aged in bottle for another 2 years.
Smell & Taste Complex aromas of ripe fruit, spices, licorice, toffee and cocoa. Silky, intense and balanced with those same ripe fruit flavors and a hint of coffee in the long, flavorful finish.
Wine & Food Open with intense dishes such as braised lamb, game and aged cheeses.
